MEET THE COMPANY
Katie Kilborn was born in Sacramento, California and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Jazz Dance Performance at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia. After relocating to New York, Katie has had the opportunity to dance with several companies including Balasole, J/D Dansfolk, IKADA, and Sammy J Dance. In 2015 she co founded Borne Dance Company with Kianna Moye and together they created a company dedicated to mental health and eating disorder awareness. Kilbourn’s work has been performed at the Alvin Ailey Citigroup Theater, Bellevue Hospital, BAAD!, The Producer’s Club, and Anita’s Way. She has been a volunteer at the National Eating Disorders Association for over three years and has personal history with mental health and recovery. She has a strong passion for eating disorder awareness and strives to continue creating work that sparks compassion and understanding of the eating disorder community.
Courtney Murray is originally from Colorado, where she danced professionally and trained in multiple different styles. She had the honor of being a company member in the Schiff Dance Collective, Blue Moon Dance Company and Rogue Co. Dance. After moving to New York, she trained in Broadway Dance Center's Professional Semester Program where her choreography won the Choreography Award. She is now Borne's new Assistant Artistic Director as well as company member.
Morgan Twist is a ceramic sculpture artist currently living and working in NYC. Previously, Morgan was an artist-in-residence at Woodstock Byrdcliffe Guild in Woodstock, New York and at Anderson Ranch Arts Center in Snowmass, Colorado. Throughout her career, Morgan has made sculpture with the intention of breaking stigmas and stereotypes about mental illness. Currently Morgan is sharing her experience with Anorexia and journey to eating disorder recovery through her sculpture and writing.
Song Ravinan is a Manhattan based artist. Ravinan is originally from Bangkok, Thailand, and had moved to NYC in 2015 to attend The American Academy of Dramatic Arts. Ravinan is a singer, dancer, actor, and a performance artist, she had been in the productions of: Kentucky (Sophie, dir. Jonathan Bolt), Much Ado About Nothing (Margaret/The Watch, dir Sheila Bandyopadhyay), Medusa (Eliza, dir. Kelsey Head), Feel It Here, Feel It There (Mark Morris Dance Center, Kelsey Head), Hella Heloïse, The Eleventh Hour (Leslie, dir. Annie Lutz), and Vanessa Long2 Dance company (season 2017-2018). Currently, Ravinan is also getting her degree at The New School/Parson. During her studies she received a training in Shakespeare, Alexander Technique, Camera Technique, Voice & Speech, Movement, and Special Effect Make Up. Song Ravinan is also super excited to be apart of Borne Dance Company, and looking forward to creating a wonderful journey with the company in the near future!
Lauren is from Oaklyn, New Jersey and began her dance training at Nancy Mulford Studio of Dance in Mt. Ephraim, New Jersey. She went to high school at Gloucester County Institute of Technology and studied dance under direction of David Kloss, Norman Taylor, and Marissa Stahl. Lauren then began to study at the Koresh School of Dance in Philadelphia, PA. She also became a member of the Koresh Youth Ensemble, learning from artistic director Ronen Koresh and co-artistic director Melissa Rector. After graduating with honors in 2014, Lauren was accepted to Montclair State University's BFA Dance program. Since being a part of the Montclair State University Repertory Dance Company, Lauren has performed in works by Mark Morris, Stacey Tookey, Alwin Nikolais, Earl Mosley, Christian Von Howard, and many more. Lauren graduated Magna Cum Laude with a BFA in Dance and a minor in Communication Studies in 2018. Since graduating, she has interned alongside Gibney and Daniel Gwirtzman Dance Company and now works administratively at a dance studio in Paramus, NJ. Lauren is excited to be working alongside the beautiful artists of Borne Dance Company!
Dimara Coulouras is a NYC-based Dance Artist from Massachusetts by way of North Carolina. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Dance Performance from The Univeristy of North Carolina at Charlotte. During her time at University, Dimara performed a wide range of works including reconstructions by Martha Graham and Paul Taylor, as well as original works created by professors. Dimara spent an independent semester at The Martha Graham School where she held an internship under rehearsal director, Denise Vale. Dimara has studied the Martha Graham Technique vigorously for the past five years and is interested in the influence of American Modern Dance in the contemporary world. Dimara relocated to New York, NY to pursue her professional dance career. Upon moving, Dimara has performed in “Table of Silence” with Buglisi Dance Theater as well as freelancing with her own Independent Projects. Dimara is interested in live performance and conserving the concert stage. Dimara is passionate on educating others on the art form, especially the influence of Modern Dance.
Brianna Biffignani is originally from St. Louis, MO. She grew up dancing competitively at Dance Elite and was a member of Ashleyliane Junior Dance Company. Brianna graduated with a BA in Theater and Dance with her emphasis in Dance from SIUE in May of 2017. Throughout college, she performed in concerts under the direction of Kristin Best Kinscherff and Omar Olivas; and was the dance captains for “Red Hot and Cole”, “Shrek: The Musical”, and “Hairspray”. Brianna was also a member of the University Dance Company where she worked under Sidra Bell, Jon Lehrer, and more. She moved to New York City in September of 2017. Since moving, Brianna performed in the opening of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, under the direction of NappyTabs, and is also a teaching artist for Notes In Motion under Amanda Selwyn Dance Theater, where she is the social media chair as well. When Brianna is not dancing, she is a fitness instructor/trainer at iLoveKickboxing Park Slope and a barre instructor at Pop Physique in Manhattan. She is very excited to be working and dancing with Borne Dance!
Tom DiFeo is a Pennsylvania native turned New Yorker and is so happy to be joining Borne once again! Tom started his training at Miss Cindy’s School of Dance in Quakertown, PA and then continued his studies at The Koresh Dance School, The Rock School for Dance Education, and holds a BFA in Dance from The University of the Arts in Philadelphia. Tom also holds a Conservatory Certificate from The Stella Adler Studio of Acting in NYC. Tom’s professional credits include, Holland American Line (Dancer), West Side Story (Indio, Ivoryton Playhouse), Saturday Night Fever (Joey, Ivoryton Playhouse).
